On April 12, 2006, the Supreme Court of the United States approved new rules and amendments to the Federal Rules of Civil Procedure, the Federal Rules of Evidence, the Federal Rules of Criminal Procedure, the Federal Rules of Evidence, and the Federal Bankruptcy Rules. The rules will take effect on December 1, 2006, unless Congress enacts legislation to reject, modify, or defer the amendments.
